Signs of a professional coaching relationship
- They listen first. Your goals, preferences, schedule, experience, and limitations shape the conversation.
- Their background is transparent. They openly explain their coaching history, industry or competitive experience, education, certifications when applicable, and the types of clients they have worked with.
- The plan is individualized. Programming progresses from your starting point instead of copying the same plan for everyone.
- Expectations are documented. Pricing, availability, communication, cancellations, refunds, and responsibilities are explained before payment.
- Progress is reviewed. The trainer uses appropriate measures, asks for feedback, and adjusts when something is not working.
- Professional boundaries are respected. They stay within their role and refer you to qualified healthcare or nutrition professionals when necessary.
